Happy new year lovely readers! Straight in: (I’m assuming your thoughts turned to holiday plans no sooner had the clock struck 12 on 31 December…) how about booking a cosy stay in a treehouse near Brighton for your next adventure? (Although side note: try not to first hyperventilate at the price tag…)

Every year, the Ellie & Co  investigative team of two spend a weekend wild camping at Blackberry Wood. It’s set deep in the South Downs just 15 minutes from Brighton and 1.5 hours from London. It’s also home to two amazing fairytale treehouses – Higgeldy and Piggeldy – perched high in the foliage, so sturdy you won’t believe it, draft-free and complete with central heating for cosy two-night stays!

Obviously I asked the owners for a snoop inside both of them… so follow me!

The lowdown on Higgeldy…

Higgledy treehouse sleeps four adults (or two adults and two children, possibly three) and consists of three rooms. There’s one big main studio room ↑ made up of a kitchen/diner and a double bed nook, a king-sized loft room inspired by a bird’s nest and a shower room in a turret.

There’s also the perfect window seat for unplugging and daydreaming, a toasty wood-burning stove, and a terrace complete with table and chairs for al fresco breakfasts, a swing chair and an outdoor fire/barbecue for cosy nights.

The lowdown on Piggeldy…

↑I love how the trees grow through this one.

Next-door to Higgeldy is Piggledy, Blackberry Wood’s latest fairytale treehouse. Like its sister, Piggledy sleeps four adults (or two adults and two children, maybe three) and has a similar layout across three rooms, is heated, has a cosy wood-burning stove, an outside terrace with outdoor furniture and a barbecue.

↓Nice touch: fairy lights wrapped around branches for extra treetop magic.

↓ Like the 70s -inspired swing chair on the balcony.

If you have a quick look on the guests reviews, you can’t find a bad word, everyone gushing about the wonderful hosts and how magical these hideaways are.

So, if you’re up for something new for 2018, book your stay in Higgeldy treehouse or Piggledy treehouse at Blackberry Wood.
